Press Release Body = HOLLAND, MICHIGAN - Instead of continuing the status quo of manually loading over-the-road trailers in your manufacturing or warehouse operations, check with Egemin Automation Inc. about the alternative method of trailer loading using Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs). Egemin cannot only tell you if you have a case but also how best to implement it.
Automated product movement has been realized within manufacturing and storage phases but that is where it stops; at least this has been the case in the past. Forklift drivers were once necessary to retrieve finished products and load them into out-going trailers. Egemin's new line of Automated Trailer Loading AGVs now completes the overall factory automation puzzle.
Egemin's automated trailer loading AGVs execute the same tasks as traditional forklifts by loading common over-the-road trailers without modifications to trailers, docks, and/or buildings. Multiple load sizes and patterns are realized with consistent, accurate, and timely delivery requirements. Three AGV configurations, single-fork, dual-fork, and turret-fork vehicles have been developed to handle 99 percent of all possible trailer-loading environments. Furthermore, these same AGVs are capable of moving product between manufacturing operations within the facility.
Egemin's trailer loading AGVs are directly integrated with the users Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. A steady stream of real-time information is continuously passed back-and-forth between the AGV and ERP systems, which allow managers to improve inventory location and shipping operation forecasts.
An additional benefit is the reduction of safety related claims by forklift operators. The continual stress that is experienced as operators maneuver over dock plates between the building and trailers has increased Workman's Compensation claims significantly over the past few decades. The use of automated trailer loading AGVs eliminates costly back injury claims.
Egemin Automation Inc. has been manufacturing AGVs since 1976. Egemin is a worldwide organization with operations in 16 countries. Egemin's center for AGV excellence is located in Holland, Michigan, where it employs all disciplines needed in order to succeed as an AGV industry leader. All AGV technology including design, software, and support is developed and owned by Egemin. Over 4000 AGVs have been manufactured and installed with many being used by Fortune 500 companies.
